Rookmandud Katwal
Rookmangud Katwal is a former Nepalese Army General, who served as the Chief of Army employees of the Nepal Army from September ten, 2006 to August, 2009. General Katwal had get difference of opinion once the then Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal had unilaterally determined to relieve Katwal of his duties on May three, 2009. The then Major General Rookmangud Katwal had been appointed because as the ‘Commander’ to guide the Unified Armed Forces of Nepal throughout “Mission Kotwada” by “tricking” the then Chief of Army workers Pyar Jung Thapa and therefore the then King of Nepal, Gyanendra Shah. The mission was important, because it ensured the successful tour of the then King Gyanendra Shah. Being among another senior military officer and several other military and police personnel, he had ordered mortars to be fired consecutively throughout the mission many times to scare the Maoist rebels into retreating and ceasing fire, but to no avail. However, upon requesting air support (choppers) from a close-by military unit, the mission was palmy when ordered missiles fired from the helicopter forced the rebels to escape. After a two-hour march up the Hill in Kotwada, the unit led by Katwal had found the place deserted.
