Miss Nepal is the national beauty contest in Nepal. It was founded in 1994. It is the member current Miss World, Miss Asia Pacific, Miss Earth and Miss International. The winner of Miss Nepal goes to Miss World whereas runner-up of Miss Nepal goes to rest of the contest like Miss Asia Pacific, Miss Earth, and Miss International. Its headquarter is in Kathmandu Nepal. Founder chairman is Gopal Sunder Lal Kakshapati.
Girls have to do lots of tasks which are given to them to be the winner of this event. This is the golden opportunity, and some people dream and represents the country name in the world. To qualify Miss Nepal, there is some requirement. Some of them are minimum height 163 cm, unmarried and age between 19-25 yrs.’ old. Note:
In 2001, some political cause (Royal Massacre), Miss Nepal was not held.
In 2006, because of Feminist Movement, it was postponed to next year.
In 2008, there was a protest against Miss Nepal Pageant.
Till Date, from the first Miss Nepal (1994) there should be 23 name list, but we got 21 because 3 years (2001, 2006, 2008) there’s some problem related to held this event and also in 1997 there were 2 Miss Nepal held by 2 different organization. One of them is Kathmandu Jaycees and another Hidden Treasure. These two organizations give two separate titles. Kathmandu Jaycees-Miss Nepal and Hidden Treasure-Miss World Nepal. Title names are different, but both are Miss Nepal.
